1976: the idea of a village resort
Founded in 1976, Valmorel was designed by architect Michel Bezançon as a mountain village. Timber, stone and slate roofs define its character. Le Bourg’s pedestrian street and shops offer a different experience from the slopes: walk around to enjoy the façades and local food.

Le Grand Domaine: plan the connections
Le Grand Domaine connects Valmorel and Saint-François-Longchamp. Before crossing, check that your pass covers the chosen area, connections are open and you have time to return. Wind and weather can affect operations. Short queues do not mean a piste or connection is open.

Outside peak season: choose differently
In spring and autumn the mountain has a different rhythm. Do not assume lifts, restaurants or guided activities run as in winter or summer. Check dates with providers. The village, walks suited to conditions and a peaceful stay can become the focus of your trip.

The official interactive map helps compare distance, ascent and duration. Choose a valley walk for a relaxed outing or a higher route for a more active day. Take water, suitable clothing and an offline map; check weather and route conditions. A mapped trail is not necessarily accessible all year.
